Healthy Hair Tricks
No matter what hair style we take a liking to, we need to take good care of our hair. Keeping it shiny, your hair hair will look beautiful no matter what style we choose. You could have the worst cut, but if our hair is healthy, people will notice, be envious, and want hair that looks like yours. So here are some healthy hair tricks:
Let’s start with some basics, like combing your hair:
By combing hair before bathing or showering, (while it’s dry) you will cause less damage. Get all the tangles out while the hair is dry: wet hair is more fragile than dry hair. Extreme heat like the sun and blow dryers can also cause damage to the hair. Therefore when washing your hair try to use tepid water instead of realy hot water. Even though that nice hot shower feels good, it can be damaging to the hair and also drying to our skin. I also like to cool my hair down just before getting our of the shower. run some cooling water through your hair before stepping out.
Next let’s talk about shampooing your hair:
Before you start to shampoo, consider what type of hair you have. If you feel your length of hair is dry, yet your scalp is oily, then lather up good and shampoo only the scalp, leaving the length alone, then rinse well. Don’t worry, the shampoo that’s falling down from the scalp will clean off any dirt on the surface. Let your hair lay flat when shampooing to avoid tangles and damage.
When conditioning your hair:
We tend to work the conditioner from the top down, reverse this and work from the bottom up. Giving the ends a lot of attention, (they tend to split and have breakage) and the scalp very little ( as it can be oily already). Leave the conditioning for a few minutes while you continue with your bath or shower, then rinse well. Again, rinsing in cold water is good for the cuticle of the hair and it will give it more shine.
Time for drying your hair:
When drying your hair avoid twisting it to remove excess water, as this can cause breakage. Try starting from the top, working your way down the hair, and gentle squeezing the excess water out.
I like to towel dry my hair by using two sides of the towel to gentle squeeze out the extra water. Avoid using the towel to rub out the excess water, as this can cause your hair to tangle and possibly pull some hairs out.
Earlier we talked about heat be damaging to the hair. If you use a blow dryer, use it with care, and possibly invest in a diffuser so the heat is not so intense. However, know that even by taking precautions when using a blow dryer on a regular basis, your hair will suffer some damage.
In conclusion, your hair does not have to be washed on a daily basis. Using shampoo too often can take the natural oils from your hair that it needs to stay healthy. There are a lot of dry shampoos available on the market today that you can use in between lathering up.
